Snow:
In Snow Country, when they had that mission, that was sadly the first time Kakashi had really gotten a close look at Naruto. He hadn’t really taken time to notice Naruto’s determination, bravery…any of Naruto’s really admirable traits. Kakashi had always dismissed him as the unpredictable comedic ninja. Until then, he hadn’t understood Naruto’s ability to change people –to inspire hope and make them believe again.
When they had left after that mission, he had overheard a conversation about Naruto. One man had said, ‘Naruto-dono is like the snow. He is pure and innocent at times and yet cold and icy underneath. Snow can also represent death and rebirth. His eyes hide a deadened look, but when he’s fighting for his dream and for others his resolve is renewed. Yes…Naruto-dono is very much like snow in every aspect.’
He walks away thinking he will take it upon himself to taint and teach Naruto about the world, not that he can teach Naruto anything else. He will embrace Naruto in warmth and breathe life into him. He will help Naruto change into the shinobi who can become Hokage. Kakashi wants to transform Naruto from snow to the sun again, because to Kakashi Naruto had always been the sun. Warm…bright…full of life…But first, he must make Naruto warm. A nice bowl of ramen can start them off.
Laughter:
Kakashi knows Naruto loves Sasuke and Sakura more than him. Why else would Naruto go through hell and back to bring back Sasuke if not for the Uchiha and the kunoichi? It was for Naruto himself as well. So where does Kakashi fit into the equation?
The jounin can’t help but think when they kiss, Naruto would rather it were Sasuke. He flinches at the thought that maybe, as they walk through a park holding hands, Naruto wishes it were Sakura. That’s why Kakashi becomes antsy when he and Naruto do both of those things that day and Kakashi keeps thinking. The children’s laughter in the park is mocking him and he can’t really feel Naruto’s lips on his.
There’s a pain in his arm and he realizes Naruto pinched him.
“You think too much,” the blonde states.
“Kaka-sensei! You’re so easy to read,” he continues sighing exasperatedly. “Sasuke is here. If I wanted him, I’d be with him right now. Sakura sees me. If I wanted her, I’d go to her. But I’m here, with you. I love them more than you as friends. I love you more than them because I love you.”
And then Naruto laughs at him, and Kakashi slowly joins in, their laughter mingling with the children’s, whose laughter isn’t as mocking. He was being rather silly…
Almost:
“I really like you now.”
He’d almost confessed. Kakashi had almost confessed. And then Naruto freaked out and called him an old perverted freak. He tried to do damage control and say he didn’t mean it like that – which is a total lie.
Everything he had worked so hard to hide and Naruto almost found out because Kakashi had to blurt out one simple sentence. And now for the past week, Naruto had been looking at him weirdly and even Yamato had noticed the distance. There was no way Kakashi could keep this up; he was already having a hard time holding a simple conversation with the blonde.
Then, when Yamato was on a mission, Kakashi’s problems were solved. He was happy to find out Naruto didn’t do almost, finding out quite easily when Naruto kisses him square on the mouth, mask and all.
Charmed:
It was ridiculous how one little shop, so small and new, could gather such a following. It was a charms shop and it made Kakashi sick to see how popular it had become. The things were everywhere he went and he almost threw up when Gai appeared dressed in them and had shoved a friendship charm at him. The women adored it; especially the shop’s specialties…love charms.
He gagged under his mask when he showed up to training to find his team with them also. He could’ve sworn he saw Sasuke hide a voodoo charm with Itachi’s name scrawled on it. Sakura, of course, would have a couple. She threw a friendship one at Naruto, shyly handed one love charm to Sasuke, and handed a good luck charm to Kakashi nonchalantly; which he accepted with a visible, raised eyebrow. Naruto, however, had charms dangling around his wrists, ankles, and neck. He actually had the most of the three. And he was strangely quiet.
“These things are a nuisance and it’s stupid to think of how many people go to buy those things.”
But of course he was ignored.
“Naruto-baka, why do you have so many charms? It’s not like they’ll work for you!”
“Some of them are for courage, some for luck, some for mercy…” Naruto murmured.
There was a couple more on him he didn’t say, but a friendship charm caught Kakashi’s eye. It was a friendship charm wishing for friendship. There was a similar one for family. In fact, most of the ones Naruto had were wishing charms. From what Kakashi knew, the ordinary wishing charms were ignored for the more popular friendship and love exchange charms. The wishing ones are for wishing for certain things like luck. Wear a luck charm and luck will come…which really didn’t make sense to Kakashi.
But then he looked at Naruto and saw his dejected face at Sakura’s words and the fact he needed so many charms. Kakashi glimpsed a hidden charm that caught his interest the most.
“Well, no training today,” he declared at the last minute. There was something he needed to do.
Exchange charms were given to those whose friendship or love the person already had, or wished friendship and love from. But they say if someone carries a wishing love charm and they receive and exchange one, they’ll be a good match together.
Kakashi, as he goes inside the charms store grudgingly, isn’t doing this for the legend. He’s doing this for Naruto. Though some part of him agrees that a small part of this is selfishly for himself.
So he feels strange when he gives the love charm to Naruto and the boy is surprised, but manages to hug Kakashi tenderly. Naruto whispers thank you continuously into his jacket and he thinks maybe the legend might come true. But so what? Who needed legends when the truth was that Naruto wished for love and Kakashi wanted to give it to him. He was charmed by the whole idea, but he was more charmed by Naruto. Literally.
Jealousy:
Naruto is jealous of Sasuke and how much time the Uchiha and Kakashi spend together. Sasuke is jealous of Naruto, but is secretly more jealous of Sakura because Naruto is in love with her. Sakura loves jealousy because of the real live soap opera drama it creates for her, and Ino is jealous because Sakura’s teammates are much more interesting to watch than her own. Kakashi likes to roll his eyes and sigh at the jealousy. He laughs at the notion of it, even when he scowls as Naruto and Sasuke end up getting along too nicely or maybe even when Naruto proclaims his love for Sakura over and over again.
“Jealousy is so overrated,” he tells Naruto as he kisses him, chuckling inwardly at the surprise coming from the blonde.
He tries to show jealousy isn’t needed and that Kakashi treasures whatever time he has with Naruto; that Naruto has nothing to be jealous of. But Kakashi will admit he does get jealous sometimes when Naruto is involved.
Moon:
Kakashi thinks he is most like the moon and the closest he’s ever gotten to the sun had been through Uchiha Obito and Kazama Arashi. But now, Naruto’s made him closer than he’s ever been because if Kakashi is the moon than Naruto is the sun. His skin glows, his smile is bright, his hair shines and his personality blazes in its intensity. It’s so fitting. Because Naruto is the sun and as the moon, Kakashi’s life revolved around Naruto.
Reversed Roles:
Team 7 was always compared to the legendary Sannins.
Sasuke was Orochimaru.
Sakura, Tsunade.
And Naruto was supposed to be Jiraiya.
And history was supposedly repeated. Sasuke defected and the other two were left with the broken remains of the team.
Kakashi had thought he had seen everything unfolding. But then Orochimaru had abandoned Sasuke back to Konoha, and the council did something no one had thought could happen. They overruled the Hokage and unanimously decided on banishing Kakashi’s neglected student, Naruto. No one could stop them and Naruto was banished…just like Orochimaru.
The cycle had been broken, beliefs shattered.
Sakura wasn’t and never would be Tsunade. Sasuke wasn’t Orochimaru, no matter how close he had been. In the end, he was more like Anko. Then the last one. Naruto could never be like Jiraiya again after the betrayal.
In truth, Naruto was more like Orochimaru than even Sasuke. Both were despised in their childhoods, both were very ambitious in reaching their dreams, both had wanted to become Hokage, and both had been banished. Was it coincidence that Orochimaru had chosen Naruto to be at his right hand and become his student?
Kakashi was horrified to find his bright student with dead eyes and shadows wrapping around him.
“Kaka-sensei, we get to have a rematch, ne?” and Naruto manipulates the shadows gracefully, moving his hand lazily towards Kakashi.
It took everything he had to avoid it, and he evaded towards Naruto, who just stood there laid-back. The shadows began to move more snake-like and Kakashi quickened to his destination. He reached Naruto, who just stood there staring up at him.
There wasn’t a Curse Seal.
The roles had been reversed. Naruto had taken Sasuke’s place in everyone else’s eyes. But to Kakashi, Naruto had taken his role. Uncaring and stoic. Kakashi had pushed Naruto aside for Sasuke. Now Naruto was pushing him aside for Orochimaru.
He saw a flicker of anger in those eyes. Naruto was still alive in there.
“Let’s go home?” Kakashi asks tiredly.
He wanted to teach Naruto how to live again. He was done learning how much of a fool he was.
Light:
Naruto can’t predict Kakashi. His teacher was full of surprises and traps. That’s why Naruto was surprised to find Kakashi in his apartment late at night with a violent storm outside. He was soaking wet and Naruto realizes his own state of clothing, his favorite nightcap already on.
Naruto expects a trap, but Kakashi just stands there quietly.
“Kakashi-sensei?”
“It’s dark out there. Tonight is so dark…”
Naruto is really unsure about all this.
“I’ll go turn a light on…”
“No!”
Then his sensei is quiet. Naruto begins to get anxious, but Kakashi starts speaking again.
“I want light…only Naruto’s light. I want your light,” he murmurs uncertainly.
Naruto doesn’t say anything when his sensei hesitantly walks closer and then clutches onto him, arms wrapped tight. He didn’t expect his teacher to be afraid of the dark. He expected less to be Kakashi’s source of comfort.
Forbidden:
“He’s forbidden,” Uchiha Itachi had said to him.
Kakashi didn’t know what he was talking about until he saw Naruto’s golden form taking a dip in a river, trying to catch fish. Then he understood perfectly. To want Naruto is to want something forbidden.
Naruto is the pariah, almost everyone shuns him.
Naruto is the youngest on his team.
There are way too many people in love with Naruto than one can hope to compete with.
Naruto would have problems with trust and affection in a real relationship.
And considering they were both males and Kakashi was also Naruto’s sensei…
It would be easier to date either of his other students, considering Naruto’s circumstances. But, forbidden or not, Naruto is very tempting.
Kiss:
Naruto approached him excitedly.
“Kaka-sensei, I have a new healing jutsu I want to try!”
Kakashi grins. “What’s that?”
“You have to take off your mask first.”
The jounin raises an eyebrow, but starts to comply anyway. It may be another plot to expose his face, but Kakashi’s curious.
He almost stumbles back when Naruto gives him a kiss. It lasts for awhile before Naruto pulls back and Kakashi’s left feeling heady, though refreshed.
“Why’d you kiss me?”
“I didn’t, sensei-baka! I’m supposed to use lip to lip contact to somehow heal someone through charka transfer. The effects are stronger through sex. I wonder how does it feel?”
Kakashi tries to hurriedly stop the blood flow coming out of his nose.

Kakashi and Naruto 8 themes.
For RPG-san’s KakaNaru 8 themes challenge over at KakashiXNaruto FC at the Naruto Forums! There’s a lot more satire going on in this one.
Wish
Kakashi thought he was a fair handler. His cyborg Naruto seemed fond of him and Kakashi’s never been outright cruel, though he’d admit that he’s been neglectful on several occasions. But at least he wasn’t Orochimaru. That man was a horrible handler, what with the way he kept conditioning Sasuke just to compete with Uchiha Fugaku and his cyborg Itachi. Hyuuga Hiashi was a better handler than those two, stuck with two cyborgs Neji and Hinata…though it had been a rocky start…Regardless, compared to them, Kakashi felt he was doing a good job with Naruto. At least he gave rewards for successful missions, which predictably was Ichiraku ramen every time.
“So Naruto, what do you want as your reward?” He doesn’t know why he bothers asking.
“Um, Kakashi…can I have a wish as my reward?” Naruto surprisingly asks, embarrassed.
“Oh. Sure!” He smiled reassuringly from underneath his mask.
“I-I wish…Kakashi would care a little bit more for me,” Naruto mumbles, his face growing red. Kakashi eyes him in surprise before smiling again. Maybe he should try a bit harder to be less neglectful.
Mask
Kakashi can’t stand to look at Naruto sometimes. Not now that he knows the truth. He grows aggravated when he sees Naruto’s mask, which is more fortified than the sleek cloth of Kakashi’s own. How could Naruto have fooled them for so long, especially Kakashi?
Disgruntled, the jounin traps the blonde into a corner one day and basically kidnaps him. The next thing the blonde knows, they’re in a small, unfamiliar village. Kakashi has Tsunade’s permission so he’s not worrying. The same could not be said for Naruto, whose heated words and angered gaze doesn’t faze Kakashi at all. He decides to reveal his compromise.
“We’re staying here for the week. But there will be no lies or secrecy. Therefore, if you drop you mask for this week…I will do the same.”
Naruto purses his lips, his eyes still squinting until he decides to open them, letting Kakashi see his eyes clearly for once and read the emotions in them just as clearly. Those sapphires look so world-weary and Kakashi slowly reaches up and pulls down his mask.
“So we have a deal?”
“We have a deal,” is all the answer Kakashi needed to hear.
Fruit
“Kakashi-sensei, why do you buy Naruto fruit?” Sakura asked him from out of the blue.
“Because he needs to eat something healthy. He can’t always eat ramen.”
She looks at him critically. “Why do you always buy a lot of bananas?” She asks accusingly.
Kakashi sweatdrops and shrugs. He laughs nervously. “They’re always on sale…”
The jounin knows what he’s being accused of. But that’ okay. Because when Naruto is frustrated buying his groceries or looking sad when he sees what he can’t buy or what pitiful excuses of fruit he is able to buy, it’s the real reason why Kakashi does most of Naruto’s shopping for him. Naruto wasn’t getting the right amount or nutrients and vitamins because he wasn’t able to, therefore Kakashi felt it was his duty to help Naruto out.
However…there is this sinful part that acknowledges Sakura’s accusations as partly true, especially when Naruto bites into a fresh apple and the juice slicks down his mouth. Or when Naruto wraps his mouth around a peeled banana. Yeah, Kakashi would admit Sakura was onto something…not that he’d admit it to her.
Kunai
“That was my first bar brawl,” Naruto said cheerfully, still swinging that kunai. Kakashi shuddered just remembering the incident. Despite that, he smiled at their joined hands.
“Ne, Naru-chan…I wanted to give you a special kunai. It was one of the Yondaime’s three-prong markers used for Hiraishin. I don’t know the jutsu, but maybe I can still help you learn it.”
“Sugoi, Kaka-sensei! Thanks a lot! I love you!” Kakashi recalled an earlier time when the blonde had said that.
“You’re embarrassing me,” this time he said it fondly, face softening towards Naruto.
They were on a typical undercover mission, dressed in civilian clothing. Kakashi had forgone his mask, recalling how Naruto spent several minutes gaping and then another turning an extreme shade of red. He chuckled at the memory.
His eyes roamed over Naruto’s figure again, some of his interest particularly on Naruto’s choice of clothing. The blonde cleaned up nicely. He winced, remembering what Naruto had said when Kakashi had mentioned that.
‘Gomen, but please don’t mock my orange clothing. Someone was actually kind enough to let me get them.’
As it was, Naruto was wearing a red, no-sleeved turtleneck and clingy leather pants. Along with replacing his ninja sandals with small combat boots, Naruto had also let his hair down, creating a softer look around his face. Add less squinting and opened cerulean eyes, and Kakashi had felt his pants grow tight when he first caught sight of Naruto.
He was broken out of his musing when the bar came into view.
“Well, I suppose I should transform, huh?” Naruto asked, staring apprehensively towards their destination.
Their mission required Naruto to use his infamous Sexy no Jutsu…Kakashi was looking forward to it, having heard a lot from Jiraiya, Iruka and a reluctant Ebisu, even if it was going to be a toned-down version with clothing on.
“Sexy no Jutsu!”
Kakashi tried very hard not to have a nosebleed right then and there, glad that it was a toned-down version. The full glorified naked version would’ve surely knocked him unconscious.
“Naru-chan is so pretty as a male and female,” Kakashi said blankly mesmerized. Naruto blinked before deciding to drag his immobile body in. The jounin continued to stare. And then the trouble began…
“Hey, sweetheart! Leave the loser and come hang with the big boys! Or rather, ‘come’ for us!”
Other such things were yelled at Naruto, cat whistles and raunchy comments thrown around with more innuendo than even Icha Icha Paradise held. The last straw was when someone actually groped Naruto.
“Touch me again and this kunai will be used to cut off the family jewels!” Naruto yelled, waving around the kunai Kakashi had just given him. The men snickered and some of them advanced on the two. Kakashi almost got ready to fight when Naruto let out a war cry and threw himself forward and began a fight.
The men just tried to take advantage of Naruto, who fought with a fury of vengeance.
“Heh, I like them feisty,” one man had commented. Wrong move as Naruto’s eyes flashed red and he twirled and danced around his opponents, felling them quickly. One man had bottle crashed onto his head, another had a tray smashed as the back of his head and then his face, someone else almost actually did lose his family jewels when Naruto grabbed onto them and twisted. Somewhere along the way, Naruto had gotten a hold of two bamboo sticks and was knocking everyone down.
In the end, bodies was strewn around them moaning, as only Kakashi and Naruto stood unharmed. The blonde stood in the middle, holding the sticks in a menacing and yet lax grip.
“Next time, I will use this kunai,” Naruto sneered. “You perverted, vile pigs,” he continued ranting as he made his way towards Kakashi. The jounin swallowed thickly when he saw Naruto tighten his grip around that kunai.
‘Maybe I shouldn’t have given that to him after all,’ he thought as he unconsciously moved his hand to protect his crotch. “Hn. Besides, I have a capable man right here,” Naruto declared, latching onto his arm. The jinchuuriki wrinkled his nose in disgust at the men before dragging Kakashi away.
Kakashi grinned, the words making him shiver pleasantly. Whether or not Naruto meant it on a more personal level, he was definitely out to find out tonight.
Bells
What an ironic situation. The bell test all over again. His teammates and Kakashi. Except there was one little twist…Naruto was the jounin leader and Kakashi was the genin. Of all things, Jiraiya had to mess up Tsunade’s age jutsu and now Naruto was stuck being a 30 year old jounin with longer blonde hair and no baby fat. The weirdest thing was standing taller than Sasuke and Sakura…and Kakashi. At least a younger 16 year old Kakashi was amusing to watch. Technically, even though Naruto knew Kakashi was ANBU by then, the silver-haired teen had been placed Team Seven as his replacement until everything was reverted back. Like Sai except at least Naruto could order Kakashi around, therefore forcing his former teacher to the meetings early.
This would be the third time Team Seven would take the bell test, so Naruto teasingly held the two bells.
“You know the drill.”
However, the new jounin didn’t take Sakura and Sasuke into account. Sakura, fueled by resentment and grudge, was determined to show Sasuke how much she’s grown. Sasuke was still irritated by having been forced back to the village and was looking for a way to vent. So instead of going after the bells, the two ended up pitted against each other.
Hands still holding the bells, Naruto looked incredulously at the two, arching an eyebrow. He almost missed the punch aimed at his head. He smirked at Kakashi, enjoying the difference in height. Kakashi followed up with several combos with his feet and hands flashing, immediately putting the blonde on defense.
Naruto mentally cursed when Kakashi touched on of the bells, the jingle chiming in the air. He grabbed the bells from his waist and popped them into his mouth, refusing to let Kakashi get the better of him. Just because he was older didn’t mean his fighting became better as well, but he was as creative as ever.
Those mismatched eyes narrowed and Kakashi resumed his offensive. Naruto was caught off guard when the ex-jounin threw himself forward and pounced on the unsuspecting blonde. He found a cloth-covered mouth plastered onto his; and his mouth was pried open, a tongue slipping in and skillfully retrieving the bells. A cheeky looking Kakashi pulled back, the bells’ strings still in the cloth alcove of the brat’s mouth.
“You…”
Even the sounds of fighting stopped, the other two watching in surprise. One of Kakashi’s hands reached up for the bells and he spoke to his temporary leader.
“Wasn’t that excellent teamwork, Naruto-sensei? Sasuke and Sakura distracted you and I grabbed the bells.”
That cheeky little brat!
“You’re just an opportunist, Kaka-bozu!”
“In more ways than one, sensei!”
Oh, was Naruto going to teach that smug brat a lesson…
Body
Naruto had become quite proficient in that special little jutsu that quickly became Kakashi’s favorite. In fact, he had become very eager when Naruto needed to practice it…because Kakashi had volunteered to be practiced on. Chakra transfer, eh…? Through lip to lip contact.
Chibi Kakashi always had on horns and a pitchfork nowadays.
“Oi, Kaka-sensei! Let’s practice again. Please, sensei!”
Kakashi grinned.
“Hey, I think I’m ready to try the body-to-body version afterwards, okay?”
Grown Kakashi imagined himself growing horns and a pitchfork appearing in his hand, alongside Chibi Kakashi. His grin widened.
“Of course, be my guest. I’ll be you partner for that as well, whenever you need to practice.”
Sky
Kakashi knew Naruto had an affinity with wind, but didn’t expect the blonde to be able to control it like Haku and his kekkei genkai. Perhaps this was Naruto’s bloodline limit. It wasn’t that important anyway, so long as he could watch Naruto take flight. He always hid his chuckles whenever Naruto hovered next to Sakura upside down, scaring her. He always envies Naruto when he’s in the air. But then he becomes part of Naruto’s world and he felt content. Now the sky was their terrain.

“I want to have a threesome,” Naruto declared to Kakashi one day. The jounin choked on his ramen, spluttering in surprise.
“What?”
Naruto rolled his eyes, but repeated anyway. “I said, I want to have a threesome.”
The silver-haired man grinned mischievously at his younger lover.
“Alright. I have the perfect person.”
Naruto returned the grin, eager to try the new twist in their relationship.
The blonde was excited when he entered their bedroom, but was stopped dead in his tracks when he saw three copies of his sensei all grinning in their naked glory.
“A threesome is with three people. There’s one too many,” Naruto deadpanned.
Kakashi looked sheepish for a second before dispelling one shadow clone, and the two left played innocent.
“I thought you found the perfect person.”
“What? I’m not perfect enough for you?” Kakashi pouted.
Naruto responded with, “Yare, yare. At least there’s a third person involved.”
Both of the Kakashi’s responded by smirking and pouncing on the blonde. “Ne, next time can there be a second Naruto instead?”
The unison made Naruto sigh again. “You two are such…animals.”
Kakashi growled huskily. Naruto purred and arched into a touch.
“Who’s the animal now?”
